From cabinet knobs and handrails to one-off turnings, Woodcroft has manufactured solid timber products for home and industry since 1923 — made to order, from our Glen Eden factory.
Our Story
Woodcroft has been manufacturing a diverse range of solid timber products for both home and industry for nearly 100 years. We work with timbers from pine and rimu through to hardwoods such as beech, ash and oak — with the flexibility to use other species as required, and to machine products in MDF. While most of what we make is custom-made to order, we also carry stock of some components.
Founded as Mt Eden Turnery by craftsman Thomas Fletcher.
The company expanded internationally, exporting to Australia, Canada and the United States.
By the early 1980s the business employed over 80 staff across a 70,000 sq ft factory.
Woodlynn purchased Woodcroft's woodturning and woodworking operations, merging them with its Glen Eden facilities.
Woodcroft and Woodlynn work in tandem from the Glen Eden factory, offering customers a wide range of wooden components.

What We Make
Every item below is manufactured to your specification. Minimum order quantities apply to some ranges — get in touch with your project and we'll find a solution.
Virtually any wooden component, in solid timber or MDF — from sports goods and handles to furniture parts, decorative items and specialty turnings.
Pin and plug buttons in a variety of sizes and timber species. Minimum order quantities apply.
A range of standard cabinet knobs in a variety of timbers. Minimum order quantities apply.
Timber handrails for staircases — an essential safety requirement, with height and shape to comply with current building standards. Vary the timber, the profile or the finish to add individuality to any home or building. An extended range is available through our sister company, Woodlynn.

Timber balustrades from the elegance of traditional Colonial turning to the simplicity of a contemporary square look — or combinations in natural timber, suited to staircases and landings.
A wide range of bed, sofa and other furniture legs — from traditional turned legs to contemporary square legs. Stock held, and also made to order.
Most curtain rod finials stocked in raw wood, in Heritage and Traditional styles. Woodcroft no longer supplies wooden curtain rods — only the finials, which can be finished by you or by a furniture and kitchen polisher in New Zealand.
Custom and one-off wooden turnings using the right machinery for the job — hand lathes for samples and one-offs, copy lathes for small runs, face plate and back knife lathes for medium runs, and semi-automatic and high-speed rotary lathes for long runs.
